Dubai police recently arrested a group of women who were being filmed posing nude on a balcony, during broad daylight hours.
According to media reports, the women stripped down completely to take part in some sort of publicity stunt, whose images went viral in no time. Now, authorities confirm how all of the women seen in the clips are now in jail.
Video footage showed the group stripping down completely as they were filmed on a balcony. Being widely shared, it was obvious that the news would soon reach the ears of strict authorities in Dubai, where such behavior is condemned to a great degree.
Reports confirmed how an unknown individual that was located in the next-door apartment had captured the ongoing shoot and then uploaded the video on social media. The incident reportedly took place in the upscale district of the Marina neighborhood.
One report from the state-linked newspaper mentioned how the group was innocently taking part in a publicity stunt but failed to elaborate more details regarding the nature of the actual event.
Meanwhile, police claim that the group of women’s behavior was absolutely unacceptable. In the same way, they spoke about how it did not go to the extent of reflecting the values as well as ethics of the members belonging to the Emirati society too.
Now, local media outlets suggest that the women could possibly be detained for as long as 6 months in jail, with a massive fine of about 1000 pounds. This is in line with violating the state’s decency laws in the country of the United Arab Emirates.
The country is one of the strictest when it comes to obscene behavior with harsh punishments and zero tolerance for indecent action such as nudity, kissing, and other types of lewd behavior examples.
