A pregnant woman told locals that a mugger snatched her iPhone worth 300 pounds and thrust her in the belly.
The incident took place in Wanstead, East London, at around 3 pm on July 29. Police are looking for the suspect who escaped the crime scene after committing a heinous crime. The victim is said to be a 30-year-old woman, pregnant with a nine weeks old baby. Authorities have spread the e-fit of the suspect to reach the person guilty for the brutal robbery.
Police showed their concern that he might be the same guy involved in a mugging that happened a few days earlier.
“This is such a terrible incident and may leave a lifelong impact on the victim.
I don’t need to tell how depressing could this be for that woman and her family,” said James Pepperell, a Police detective constable. The local shopkeepers told police that the woman was a regular customer and could be seen there often.
“She was not British but was European.
A day after the assault, she came to tell us about the tragedy; she was weeping while telling us how she lost her child after getting kicked in the stomach. It was upsetting to see her moan over the irredeemable loss.A similar incident took place a few days earlier in the street; we’re not sure if there is the same person behind both crimes,” said a shopkeeper.
The crime took place at the bus-stop, and unfortunately, the incident was not recorded on the CCTV camera as it faces the other side of the street.
“If any one of you can help us reach the culprit, please come forward.
Get in touch if you have any information that can assist us in the identification of the e-fit. The eye-witnesses are also requested to reach us,” said James. The Police constable emphasized that even a little piece of information could help them solve the case.
