A woman goes blind in her left eye and failing sight on her other eye after an attempt to have her eyes tattooed.
Aleksandra Sadowska decided to that she wanted to have the white of her eyes tattooed black to in her efforts to look like her favorite rapper and Professional MMA fighter Popek.
The 25-year-old model from Warsaw, Poland, complained on pains in her eyes, but the tattoo artist assured her that it was normal, and all she needs is to take painkillers.
For unintentionally disabling Sadowska severely, he tattoo artist, named by the local media as Piotr A, will face three years in prison.
Doctors told her that the damages done were irreparable, and that she will soon loose sight in her left eye as well.
She had undergone three procedures after the ordeal, hoping to restore her sight, but the dye had already gone into her tissue.
The investigations found that the tattooist made a series of mistakes in the procedure, which includes using body ink that is not supposed to come in contact in the eyes.
“There is clear evidence that the tattoo artist did not know how to perform such a delicate procedure,” Sadowska’s lawyers argued.
They continued by stating, “And yet he decided to perform it which led to this tragedy.”
Sadowska continued to be optimistic about her ordeal, and she said, “’I will not lock myself in the basement and get depressed. I have sadness behind me, but I live on.”
“Unfortunately, for now doctors do not give me much optimism for improvement. The damage is too deep and extensive. I’m afraid I will be completely blind.”
The tattooist continues to run his salon, where he mainly performs ear piercings.
He has now been charged four years after Sadowska’s unfortunate fate began, but has pleaded not guilty.
