A woman in South Africa was captured on video while taking off her underwear and used it as an impromptu face mask.
Smartphone camera footage caught the unusual interaction between an unnamed woman and a security guard while she waits in the checkout queue with her shopping.
The guard asked the woman to put on a face mask or leave the store, prompting the resourceful renegade reached up beneath her paisley-printed skirt, then pulling her black thong underwear down her legs and up to her face.
“Happy?” the woman asked sarcastically.
Another shopper standing behind the now-pant-less woman encouraged the situation, saying, “Well, personally, I find it acceptable.”
“It is a mask. And quite frankly, I think the bacteria on your knickers is less than on the mask.”
However, others were not as impressed, with one Facebook commenter saying that the stunt “makes me sick.”
“She is aware of the law worldwide. We have a serious virus and (she thinks) a G-string will save her.”
“Come on grow up. What must your family think? “ another quipped.
“They should not have allowed her into the shop without a mask in the first place. Disgusting to say the least!”
The woman was not the first to pull an outrageous stunt after being caught not wearing a mask.
Another woman from Ukraine was recorded removing her leggings and underwear to make an impromptu mask after being told to wear one while waiting in line at a post office.
In Dublin, a man was seen wearing a pair of pants on his face as he board on a train.
While many countries have implemented strict regulations to wear face masks in public places to help curb the spread of the pandemic, there are those who continues to defy the supposed safety regulations.
