However, it was shocking for many to find out how she was removed from her life support machine at 4 pm, the next day that the statement was made.
“The city’s mayor, Amy Shuler Goodwin, expressed her sadness on the tragic event with the following words: “To say that we are very heartbroken would truly be an understatement. We are at a huge loss because we have lost one of our sisters in blue.”
As far as the incident that led to her death is concerned, news agencies confirmed how Johnson was on duty, responding to a minor traffic complaint. During the late hours of the afternoon, she came across a 34-year-old suspect named Joshua Philips. Moreover, he was parked in a designated driveway that wasn’t actually his.
Therefore, the duo got into a brawl, right before Johnson received shots to her face. However, it’s still not confirmed as to who shot first. And that’s because cops speculate that Johnson shot Joshua twice in the torso region, pulling her gun out first.
After the tragic incident took place, she was rushed to the General Hospital of Charleston Area’s Medical Center.point 226 |
