According to court documents, one victim was left with deep stab wounds to his abdomen and spent 22 days in the hospital, while the other suffered a deep laceration.

The 51-year-old trans woman pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and causing bodily harm with intent. Cuthbert was sentenced to five years and four months at a male prison.

Prosecutor Shaun Dodds said that Cuthbert had been in a brief sexual affair with a man —who goes by the name of ‘Gemma’— but it fell apart on New Year’s Eve 2019.

Cuthbert then introduced ‘Gemma’ to her neighbor with who she was having another sexual relationship. The problem arose when Cuthbert’s two lovers got together in one of their homes on Saltburn-by-the-Sea.

Dodds said that a violent confrontation started in the kitchen before Cuthbert followed them into the living room and stabbed the two with a kitchen knife.

Cuthbert allegedly called another friend via social media to tell her what she did and showed the knife she used.

The prosecutor said that when the police arrived at the scene, they discharged a Taser to arrest her.

During interrogation, Cuthbert said she ‘caught them at it’ but cannot recall what actually happened.

Attorney Stephen Constantine, Cuthbert’s lawyer, said his client accepted full responsibility for her actions despite her limited memory of the incident due to her drug and alcohol intake.

“She describes her own actions as appalling, she appeared to be remorseful and ashamed and was described as being upset that should have committed such a serious crime,” Constantine said.

“You introduced both men and them, it seems, became close,” the judge told Cuthbert. “Naturally there became some tension.”

“Whatever had taken place had made you angry, the argument it seems became more than an argument, it became violent.”

Judge Crowson said that one of the victims was still struggling to recover from the violent attack.
