16-year-old D’Amelio is the latest celebrity to become the victim of cancel culture.
D’Amelio has the highest follower count on TikTok, and she is on her way to hit 100 million followers. Her latest Chef video on YouTube sparked immense backlash, and she lost 1 million followers. The 15 seconds long video clip on YouTube depicts a dinner-table disagreement among D’Amelio’s family.
The video “Dinner with the D’Amelios” shows a scene where Chef Aaron May served a dish and said that it is classic paella and people consider it as the omen of good luck.
“Liars!” Charli replied contemptuously with crossed arms.
Dixie, Charli’s sister, took a bite of snail to taste, and then she ran outside to vomit the food in front of the chef. “The food isn’t good, and I vomited it,” 19-year-old Dixie said.
“Stop being overdramatic, Dixie!” Heidi, the mother, responded to the situation.
Charli asked May if she could have dino nuggets instead.
The video stimulated a debate, and people said the family’s behavior towards May was condemnable.
Chef May is titled “Chef Extraordinaire” in the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame.
The viewers’ Snotty attitude had affected Charli’s stardom as her follower count dropped from 99. 5 million to 98. 5 million. She posted a video where she was whining that she was about to hit 100 million followers when this petty drama started. Before that, she was gaining thousands of followers every day.
People are bashing Charli under all her recent videos. Several social media influencers have also jumped into the debate, and they criticized the family’s bratty behavior. Dixie, who has 43.8 million followers on social media, also received a lot of hate.
“People who are passing offensive remarks on me & my family need to hold on for a minute.
How can you judge someone by a 15-second video without knowing the whole story? I struggle with eating disorders and can puke on the thought, taste, and smell of anything.I love Chef May, and I can never think to disrespect him.
My parent’s reaction was that way because they’re used to seeing this,” Dixie responded to the situation and called the dreaded cancel culture “disgusting.”
Dixie apologized to her fans for unintentionally hurting their sentiments and posting a video that has offended them.
