The theater’s director, who is Michael Brindisi, mentioned how 98% of the cast is white. And this particular piece of news was confirmed by one of the actors on Wednesday. In the same way, the director also spoke about how the majority of white members didn’t fall in line with the show’s main idea or focus. “That simply does not work with what we are saying that we are going to do,” the director boldly exclaimed.

On the other hand, the director also spoke about how he did consider recasting. But instead, he opted to incorporate a self-inflicted spin upon the so-called ‘cancel culture.’ Therefore, he chose to scrap this and begin fresh, using a clean slate.
