A 15-year-old boy from McKinney, Texas, has been charged with murder after allegedly beating his own mother to death.
According to a press release from the McKinney Police Department, the teen’s father called the police department to their home in the 700 block of Donelson Dr. shortly after 1 a.m. on January 3, where they found 50-year-old Stacy Ellen Barney dead.
“The teen was found in the area following a search,” said the police.
The boy, who has not been named because he is a juvenile, was caught on surveillance video beating Barney to death inside their $570,000 home.
Authorities has not shared the details about her death, including a possible motive or what sparked the attack.
“This is an ongoing investigation,” the police said.
“Our hearts go out to the victim’s family during this extremely difficult time.”
The McKinney Police Department confirmed that the case is “active and ongoing”, but did not provide anymore details.
None of the neighbors was willing to speak about the tragic events, but they did say that they knew the family and the children who lived at the home.
Meanwhile, the boy’s father was not harmed in the incident.
