A teacher has resigned after a shocking image of her resting her foot on the neck of a black student has gone viral recently.
Surprisingly, the image was taken by the teacher herself, confirmed by local media outlets recently.
The teacher was a former employee at an elementary school in Texas, right before she resigned from her position. Moreover, the disgraceful image had racism written all over it as the teacher reportedly took the image herself and then opted to text it to her student’s mother too.
According to a report, the teacher has resigned from her position on Friday.
The school with which the elementary teacher was associated was identified by authorities as to the Lamar Elementary School which is located in the district of Greenville. This is just northeast of the city of Dallas in Texas.
Without a doubt, the startling image drew great outrage from the community recently as the 10-year-old child’s father and the entire school’s administration just couldn’t believe what they were witnessing.
Recent reports go as far as suggesting how the teacher went to the terrifying extent of using this particular image as a potential mock threat, in case the same student failed to return back to class without his homework assignment.
While the teacher’s name is yet to be revealed, the share was immediately suspended from her position after texting the pupil’s mum on Wednesday. This horrifying incident took place just moments after the final verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial made its way.
Chauvin was a former cop from Minneapolis who was found guilty on all of his charges. Moreover, he was responsible for murdering George Floyd by kneeling down on the black man’s neck for a good nine minutes.
In a recent interview with NBC Affiliate, the father mentioned how outraged he felt over the teacher’s behavior. On the other hand, the mother went on to reveal how she simply didn’t think anything of it.
