The RE teacher who became the center of controversy after showing his pupils cartoons of the Prophet is now receiving death threats.
According to media reports, the father of the teacher explains how he fears that his son will be killed after the sudden blasphemy row that took center stage. “I fear that my son will be murdered and will now never be able to lead a normal life again,” cried his father.
While the 29-year-old teacher is yet to be named, local media outlets confirmed how he entered into hiding, alongside his partner, right after a series of death threats started flooding in.
The teacher’s father spoke exclusively with Daily Mail, where he mentioned that his son simply can’t stop breaking down into tears, claiming that it’s all over for him.
“He is very worried that now he and his family will get killed,” the father added. In the same way, the day spoke about how he knows for sure that his son won’t be able to work as well as live in Batley, after the incident. “It’s just too dangerous for him and his entire family,” he explained in the exclusive interview.
The teacher’s father put the French blasphemy incident into the spotlight, where a teacher was killed for a similar reason. “Eventually, they will get to my son, and he knows this fact for sure,” exclaimed the dad.
On the other hand, the father went as far as criticizing the school ‘Batley Grammer School’ for the way it handled the incident.point 425 |
Right after the jaw-dropping incident, the school went ahead and suspended the teacher while the school’s Headmaster went on apologizing to the parents for the ‘wrong’ use of the cartoons too.point 180 | 1
The cartoon was reportedly taken from the newspaper ‘Charlie Hebdo’ which routinely gets called out for its controversial images, with this one being no exception.
