People Are Mocking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez For Selling $65 ‘Tax The Rich’ Sweatshirts


Firebrand Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has come up with a new campaign idea: Sell the rich expensive sweatshirts – about taxing the rich.

On the website, they are selling several different and pricey clothing with slogans like “Abolish ICE,” “Drink water & don’t be racist,” and “Tax the rich.” Twitter users’ eye caught the merchandise and highlighted that the hypocrisy of an anti-capitalism legislator coming up with their own clothing line.

A Twitter user named @MattsIdeaShop wrote that AOC is selling 65 dollar sweatshirts that say ‘tax the rich’ that only the wealthy people can afford; they should have just said ‘Tax Me.’

Other users added that when you’re aiming for socialism, but you hit capitalism.

A pundit said that the 31-year-old squad leader was also a member of the wealthy class, given her six-figure congressional income.

The income from the clothes does not go to charity; it goes to Ocasio-Cortez’s political machine with a statement on the website warning, “Purchases, are campaign contributions.point 155 | ”.point 159 | 1

According to the New York Times, the Bronx-born lawmaker’s campaign hauled in a hefty $17.3 million in donations. The congresswoman defended her clothing line and claimed that the money would fund grassroots organizing.

Furthermore, she posted on Twitter, where she wrote that Republicans are freaking out because they don’t use slave-wage labor for Merch that funds grassroots organizing. “But what’s the difference between Trump’s Merch and ours? Ours is made in the US,” she added.

On Donald Trump’s official merchandise site, Trump-Pence dog collar costs $15, his signature red “Make America Great Again” cap – which is made in the US – is priced at $30.
