In a statement released from the US attorney’s office for the district of New Jersey, the FBI identified the suspect as Roy Den Hollander.

On Monday, the New York State Police found Hollander’s body in the town of Rockland in Sullivan County, New York – about a two-hour drive from the judge’s home in an apparent suicide.

The self-described “anti-feminist” lawyer flooded the courts with seemingly frivolous lawsuits that sought to eliminate women’s rights.

One of the cases he worked on includes a federal suit claiming that nightclubs in New York City discriminated against men by offering “ladies’ nights.”

Hollander was known to have openly seethed against Salas, whom he called “a lazy and incompetent Latina judge appointed by Obama.”

In June 2019, Hollander left a case wherein he challenged the male-only United States military draft, handing it over to a team of lawyers at the large New York-based law firm Boies Schiller Flexner.

He then said that he had terminal cancer, and “would not be able to see the case through.”

Investigators say that Hollander showed up at Judge Salas’s home in North Brunswick, NJ on Sunday afternoon wearing a FedEx uniform, and fired multiple gunshots.

His alleged actions resulted in killing the judge’s son Daniel Anderl, 20-year-old Catholic University student, and critically injuring her husband and criminal defense attorney Mark Anderl.

According to Lucian Chalfen, the spokesperson for New York State’s chief judge, Janet M. DiFiore, The FBI notified their office that Hollander had DiFiore’s name and photo in his car.

However, it was not clear whether Hollander intended to target her as well.

According to one law enforcement official, they are exploring whether Hollander decided to “take out” some of his enemies after knowing about his cancer diagnosis.
