A student is under fire for making use of George Floyd’s final words in his Valentine’s theme prom invitation.
According to media reports, the shocking incident went viral as viewers witnessed pictures of Floyd’s last words as a part of an invitation for a school dance.
Moreover, the sign appeared to display a hand-drawn illustration of the slain black man, right next to the words, “If you went to Sadie’s with me, it would take my breath away.’
Right after the strange incident, pictures of the Foothill High School student, who appeared to be standing in the midst of a football field while carrying the sign and smiling cheekily from behind, are now all over social media.
After the bizarre event, authorities from the Las Vegas school appear to be investigating the incident. They believe the sign was racially charged up, calling it highly insensitive and senseless.
Media reports confirmed how the sign has to do with the death of the dad from Minneapolis, who was killed after one cop by the name of Derek Chavin. He knelt on his neck for a staggering 8 minutes, while keeping him under arrest for the suspicion of attempting to make use of a fraudulent cheque.
The terrifying video footage went viral around the globe with many enraged with fury and demanding justice. Floyd could be heard in the bodycam footage of the officers as he pleaded for help since he couldn’t breathe. “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe,” and that was right before he lost full consciousness.
Without a doubt, his unjust and very unpredictable death wasn’t something that many people saw coming. Moreover, it gave rise to global protests with many urging authorities to defund the police and investigate the matter promptly.
Now, this recent incident is again sparking outrage as many believe it was totally uncalled for and very racially insensitive, less than one year after Floyd’s death.
