Elizabeth Hurley’s Ex, Steve Bing, Took His Own Life After He Jumped From 27th Floor LA Apartment


Steve Bing, the famous filmmaker, philanthropist, and the father to star actress Elizabeth Hurley’s son, has passed away at age 55.

According to reports, the celebrity took his own life by jumping outside the 27th floor of his LA-based apartment building. Sources claim that at the time of his death, the Hollywood producer’s estimated net worth was around a staggering $590 million.

The latest details about the filmmaker’s death were revealed on Monday by TMZ. Hence, the tabloid based network stated that the star died after taking a giant fall outside his Century City neighborhood in LA, where he was residing.

Further reports came in stating how the famed director and producer was ‘depressed’ due to the isolation during the CoronaVirus Pandemic. However, it is still unclear whether or not this revelation has anything to do with the cause of his death.

Steve Bing’s major fortune came through his established grandfather, who holds the title for building some of the most luxurious apartment buildings during the 1920s, in New York.

Simultaneously, Bing’s father, the acclaimed Dr. Peter Bing, is famous for his works on numerous public health projects, for clients like Johnson White House. This was right before he relocated to Los Angeles, to attend to his family’s business needs.

This comes in the light of the family’s great generosity in California, where they are famed for making the LA County’s Museum of Art’s Theater as well as introducing numerous programs at the acclaimed Stanford University.

Despite such a giant inheritance to his name, Steve Bing wasn’t too well known to the masses. The star filmmaker maintained a very low profile, until he entered into a very public relationship with Elizabeth Hurley, in 2000. 

This was closely followed by a paternity suit, entrapping the media and tabloids from around the globe, leaving him with no decision but to file countless ‘invasion of privacy’ suits.

According to close friends, Bing was famous for his easy-going nature, great intellect, and wonderful sense for fun. The celebrity roamed around in ‘scruffy’ attire that gave onlookers no hint about his wealthy fortune.

Today, Steve Bing is most well known for his son Damian, with British Starlet Elizabeth Hurley. However, his relationship didn’t last long, with Hurley informing Bing about their son after the two had parted.

Bing’s death comes as a huge surprise to many fans, followers, and fellow stars. Similarly, his publicist announced how she was “overwhelmed trying to process this unbelievable and sad event.”
