A gang of six robbers entered a Manhattan shop and swiped many pricey purses.
On Saturday, December 26, the incident took place when a gang of 6 people looted a Balenciaga shop and ended up snatching 30 pricey bags. The shop is located at 149 Mercer Street in Soho, and the loot occurred at 2:27 pm. One of the six men pretended to have a gun and warned everyone else to stay away to avoid trouble.
Nobody interfered with the robbers out of fear, and they left the shop after picking 30 bags from the shop.
Bystanders saw them going back in 2 black Hondas.
The 30 purses were worth $60000, with the cheapest having the price of $1850 and the most expensive one costs as much as $2300. No further information about the case has yet been released, and the police are looking into the matter to reach the criminals.Snatching incidents like these are not new in NYC; a similar incident occurred in June 2020 when two men entered a jewelry shop in NYC and impersonated police officers. Both the men were 59-year-old named Jose Rodriguez from the Bronx and Ismael Igartua from Queens. The jewelry shop was located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Ismael and Jose identified themselves as NYPD officers to the store owner and were wearing a police uniform.
They asked the owner to hand over his gun to them as they want to examine the store.
As soon as the owner gave his firearm, one of the suspects tied up the owner, and both of them ran away after stealing the gun and valuable jewelry items worth $150k.Both the men were arrested a few blocks away from the crime scene and were charged for robbery, pretending to be police officers, and threatening a small business owner.
