“So, what do you want me to do? You want me to say something about Mint?” the comedy legend asked Reynolds after he was introduced, “I’ve really got to get a phone.”

Since then, Moranis had been “picky” in the past and famously avoided returning to some of the roles that made him famous.

“I’m interested in anything that I would find interesting. I still get the occasional query about a film or television role and as soon as one comes along that piques my interest, I’ll probably do it,” he said in a 2015 interview.

He also said that the Ghostbusters reboot starring Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy “didn’t appeal to me.”

“I hope it’s terrific. But it just makes no sense to me,” he added, “Why would I do just one day of shooting on something I did 30 years ago?”

In February, Moranis confirmed that he will reprise his role as Wayne Szalinski in Disney’s upcoming reboot Shrunk.

Josh Gad will play Wayne’s grown-up son Nick, who was “blown up” as a toddler in the first sequel.
