After a series of complex discussions, the Queen and her senior officials believed that, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex must drop their “Sussex Royal” label.
The decision has been made due to the fact that the couple had willingly stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family.
It is now clear that Meghan and Harry needs to re-brand, even after spending tens of thousands of pounds for the said brand.
The couple first had a website made to complement their particularly famous Instagram feed, and were seeking to register the brand as a global trademark.
They intend to use the brand for a range of items and activities such as clothing, stationery, books and teaching materials, and had already taken steps to setup a charitable group using the same brand.
The Queen’s decision proves to be crushing to the Sussexes, as they now have to come up with an entirely new brand and start re-registering everything from their website, upto their charity organization.
It has been clear that the Sussex Royal brand was the center of Harry and Meghan’s plans to be financially independent.
A number of trademark applications were made for the said brand, although sources have claimed that these are just preventative measures to protect the brand from others who wish to benefit from it.
The Duke and Duchess has also commissioned a new website, in which its launched conveniently coincided with the couple’s announcement.
While Her Majesty has announced her decision to allow her grandson and his wife to begin a new life, officials made it clear that the use of the Sussex Royal title will need to be discussed further.
Now that it the couple has given up their HRH titles for royal duties and abandoning official appointments such as Harry’s military roles, the brand will need to be abandoned as well.
