The Homeland Secretary from Biden’s administration says he is ready to prosecute those migrants who fail to cooperate with the US.
The Homeland Secretary for Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, mentioned how he wishes to crack down on all illegal immigrants that fail to follow the nation’s immigration policies. Moreover, this also includes those who fail to show cooperation with both Customs Enforcement as well as Immigration officers too.
Mayorkas mentioned how he is seeing a surge in cases where officials apprehend as well as remove those immigrants who they believe need to get prosecuted criminally, in a statement made to ICE employees via a virtual town hall, last Friday.
In the same way, he also briefly spoke about how President Biden is reconsidering the start of construction on the southern border wall that was initially begun by former US President Donald Trump. The president’s shocking step is being taken to help fill in the gaps, mentioned inside sources close to the Biden administration.
At the moment, the administration is facing a major influx of migrants, which continues to cause havoc in so many detention facilities. Moreover, many experts believe the nation is actually suffering from a humanitarian crisis with urgent efforts to find a solution before it is too late.

Therefore, Homeland Security feels the time has come to rethink policies and strengthen efforts to bring a proactive and quick solution to the surge in migrants entering through the border soon and that means stricter policies against those who don’t act in line.
