Prince William and Kate Middleton shared rare pictures, alongside a heartfelt message, to honor the celebrations in store for Prince Phillip’s 99th birthday today.
Both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined Prince William and the Duchess of Cornwall for the sharing of the images. The photographs consisted of their favorite selection of pictures of the Duke of Edinburgh.
Highlights of the shots include a candid picture of Prince William and his grandfather during the 2015 Rugby World Cup, casually sharing jokes. The other image comprises Prince Charles and his father, riding a motorboat together during the 1957 Isle of Wight.
The two publicly shared images were posted by the royal family members, on their Kensington Royal social media account. The images were captioned with a heartwarming note that said:
“Wishing a very happy 99th Birthday to His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh!”
According to reports from Kensington Palace, Prince Phillip and the Queen will spend time alone at Windsor Castle. However, other reports claimed the possibility of a video call involving other royal family members.
Both the Duke of Edinburgh and Queen are spending time in isolation at their residence, ever since the lockdown began. One expert claimed that this is the most time they have ever spent together in ‘many years.’
