In Russia, a mother deeply despises the “monster” who beat her pregnant daughter and unborn baby to death because he didn’t want to have kids.
Dmitry Vasyukovich, 36, has beaten her pregnant girlfriend Marina Vodeyko, 33, fifteen times using a metal pipe cracking her head open in the city of Omsk.
After that horrific scene, he then set her house on fire with petrol and left the place. He was caught when Marina left her dashcam in her parked car and saw Dmitry leaving her house after the brutal killing.
Reports say that their unborn child died 15 minutes after her mother.
Dmitry was detained and confessed to his crimes, showing how he killed her in a reenactment videoed by the police officers.
The court was told that the couple had been in an on-off relationship for ten years and Marina had already stopped taking her pills without telling Dmitry because she desired to have a baby with blue eyes like his.
However, Dmitry, who works as a railway worker, did not want a child and offered to pay for an abortion, becoming more insanely mad when she refused. He has already moved away to a job in Moscow but then drove back 1,700 miles just so he could kill her.
Alfiya Vodeyko, 54, the victim’s mother emotionally confronted Dmitry in court.
“Look me in the eye, monster, you slept in her bed. You played God, wanted to finish her, and killed.” She said. “You took the meaning of life from me.”
She also told the judge that “Marina wanted the baby to have blue eyes. Blue, like Dmitry’s.”
Marat Abaidullin, the state prosecutor said that Marina had advised that they wouldn’t have to live together, but he should provide money to support their child.
“Vasyukovich wanted to save himself the costs of maintaining the child,” Abaidullin said.
A lot of Marina’s friends gave a statement about the couple’s unstable relationship.
Alyona Morozova, Marina’s friend said that she had “unrequited love” for him, and admitted that she was not taking her contraceptives.
“He did not really love her, he often ignored her,” another friend has said. “In mid-January Marina texted me saying that she was pregnant, and he wanted her to have an abortion. She told me that she really wanted the baby.”
During the trial, Dmitry said that he regretted what he has done and said that Marina and their unborn son will always remain in his memories.
“I will remember this all my life. I am deeply sorry. I will try by all means to make up for the loss suffered by the family of the victims,” he said. “At the time of the act, I was under very strong emotional stress and did not understand the danger of my actions.”
Dmitry was then sentenced to 18 years in jail and ordered to pay around $33,000 in compensation to Marina’s family.
