Police Escort Employees Out Of Ubisoft Office Following Unconfirmed Reports Of ‘Hostage Situation’


Dozens of employees have been escorted out of the Ubisoft building in Montreal after police authorities received unconfirmed reports of a hostage situation.

At around 1.30 pm, special forces were called to the Ubisoft building after staff reported receiving a text from the company telling them to hide, turn their phones on silent and not speak.

It’s still not clear what exactly the threat was or where it came from but multiple local sources described it as a hostage situation.

Company employees scrambled to the roof terrace where they waited for updates while some barricaded themselves in a conference room.

After a few hours, the threat seemed to have been diffused.

According to CTV, an employee ‘sent a memo asking staffers to barricade themselves and stay quiet.’
