Last year, Kate and Matthew created a TikTok account thinking it could be a great way to document and share their life as newlyweds.
But as we all know, one of the disadvantages of sharing people’s lives on the internet is that they also open themselves to unwanted criticisms.
Just recently, Kate explained how internet trolls have made mean and rude comments about her weight and even questioned her marriage.
In a TikTok video that went viral, Kate she said: “People on TikTok are always like, ‘There’s no way that’s your husband! He’s way too hot for you.’”
“Erm he thinks I’m beautiful and also I’m an engineer with a really good personality and I’ve gained 90lbs since I met him,” Kate said. “But none of that matters to him and he’s a really good guy.”
Kate also took the chance to gave an inspirational message to their 12,500 plus followers by saying: “You are beautiful.”
“You are worthy of love,” Kate added. “It’s worth waiting for someone that loves you for you.”
At the time of this writing, the TikTok video gathered up almost 13,000 likes and people expressed their support to Kate and her husband Matthew in the comments.
“Nope I think you’re a cute couple,” one commenter said. “Ignore them, they’re just jealous.”
“Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder,” another person added. “Don’t change, you are beautiful!”
“You don’t have to explain yourself or your relationship to anyone!” a third commenter has said.
In a separate video clip, Kate shared how she met Matthew, who works as a firefighter, on a dating app and it was “love at first sight” when they met up in person.
“When we met, I was ready for him,” Kate jokingly said. “All of the time that I spent being bitter, being single, I wasn’t ready to find ‘The One’”.
“But I got there by believing in my worth, believing in my beauty and my value, and finding my self-confidence to a point where I was content with being single,” she added.
