A grade one student from Queensland tragically lost his life after his playtime ended in horror recently.
Little Deklan Babington MacDonald was only 6 years old when he died, right after becoming entangled with his penguin toy. According to local media outlets, the young child was playing with the penguin which contained a leash.
His cousin described the moment when the little boy got entangled in the leash, all of a sudden, after which the toy broke. And that is what resulted in his dangerous injury.
For several days, the young child remained in the hospital and just recently on Friday, heartbreaking news broke out about how doctors had to turn his life support machine off.
Little Deklan is missed for his gorgeous presence. Many loved ones claim he would light up any room that he entered. And for this reason, it’s a loss that they simply can’t come to terms with.
Family sources also added how the toy was originally bought from Sea World and was known as the ever so popular penguin on a leash. The family was removed from the life support machine after loved ones were given their respective time to bid their final farewell to a member that was close to so many people’s hearts.
The family’s statement mentioned how the young boy tragically died with his nearest and dearest by his side. Moreover, the loved ones also went on to add how he bought the toy from a theme park in Surfer’s Paradise right before the shocking incident unfolded.
The so-called deadly device comprised of a penguin that could perform all movements such as walking too. Moreover, they also went on to describe how the penguin’s leash was actually made really stiff by the use of a pole. Unfortunately, that pole came out, as mentioned by Deklan’s cousin Lea Williams.
Upon discovering her son in a dangerous situation, the mum called for help. However, it was just too late. He wasn’t able to be saved.
