A furious Piers Morgan says he’s ‘sickened’ by Meghan Markle for ‘trashing’ the Royal Family as ‘white supremacists’.
On Good Morning Britain, Piers unleashed a fiery rant after Markle’s bombshell interview with Prince Harry that aired in the United States.
“I’m angry to the point of boiling over. I’m sickened by what I’ve just seen,” Piers angrily said. “This is a two-hour ‘trashathon’ of our Royal Family, the monarchy, and everything the Queen has worked hard for, done while Prince Philip lies in hospital.”
“They basically make out they are a bunch of white supremacists by dropping a racist bombshell!”
During the interview, Meghan claimed Archie was banned from being a prince after the Royals questioned how dark his skin color would be, and added that she had suicidal thoughts.
Meghan said she begged for help from the Firm after struggling with her mental health— saying it was her husband who “saved” her.
But Piers demanded to know who she had asked: “Who did you go to? What did they say to you? I don’t believe a word she says, Meghan Markle. I wouldn’t believe a weather report if she read it.”
“The fact she has expressed an onslaught against our Royal Family is contemptible!” Piers said.
Adding more fuel to the fire, Piers posted on Twitter: “Let’s be clear: Prince Harry and his wife just spent two hours trashing everything the Queen stands for & has worked so hard to maintain, whilst pretending to support her.”
“And they did it while her 99yr-old husband Philip is seriously ill in hospital. It’s contemptible.”
However, Mind Charity—a mental health charity in England— expressed their disappointment with Piers’ comments.
“It’s vital that when people reach out for support or share their experiences of ill mental health that they are treated with dignity, respect, and empathy,” the charity posted on Twitter. “We are in conversations with ITV about this at the moment.”
Speaking to Oprah, Meghan said the concerns had been raised at the same time that they were told Archie would not receive security as he was not a prince.
“All the grandeur around this stuff is not really important to me,” Meghan told Oprah. “But in those months when I was pregnant, all-around same time— we have in tandem he won’t be given security, a title and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”
Oprah was left stunned with the revelation and responded: “What? There is a conversation… hold on. Hold up. Hold up. Stop right now. There’s a conversation with you?”
Meghan replied: “With Harry.”
Oprah went on: “About how dark your baby is going to be?”
Meghan replied: “Potentially, and what that would mean or look like.”
Oprah was shocked and said: “Whoa.”
When asked whether there were concerns that her child would be “too brown” and that would be a problem, Meghan said: “If that is the assumption you are making, that is a pretty safe one.”
Prince Harry then confirmed he had been involved in the conversations but said he would never share the details.
“At the time it was awkward but I was a bit shocked,” Prince Harry said.
Piers went on to a heated debate with co-host Susanna Reid over the bombshell Oprah interview, and he sarcastically thanked his co-host for “lecturing him about journalism” in the heated exchange.
“Just because they’re saying it’s ‘their truth’, doesn’t make it true what they’re saying, does it?” Piers told Susanna.
To which she responded: “We do take them seriously. We discuss them on the program. We are journalists, we do things differently. We take everything seriously.”
Angry Piers replied saying: “Well, thanks for the lecture on journalism.”
