TV Presenter Phillip Schofield did not mince his words on This Morning this week after aiming a sly dig at Meghan Markle for the second day running.
The 58-year-old host was discussing Donald Trump’s calls to the Duchess of Sussex to run against him for the 2024 Presidential race.
When host Gayle King revealed a Royal Family’s conversation referring to Meghan and Harry being “unproductive,” Schofield answered it was time for Meghan to “shut up.”
“I’m not trying to break news, but I did actually call them to see how they were feeling and it’s true Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father too,” King told her viewers.
“The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive but they are glad that they have at least started a conversation.”
“And I think what is still upsetting to them is that the palace keeps saying they want to work it out privately, but yet they believe these false stories are coming out that are very disparaging against Meghan still – no one in the royal family has talked to Meghan yet,” she continued.
Schofield was unable to contain how he felt about the situation after they showed the clip, and mentioned that it is about time Meghan stopped speaking about her treatment as a royal.
“The thing is there’s been an enormous amount of sympathy over the race issue, the mental health issue, but looking at the polls that are being done at the moment, that sympathy seems to be ebbing away quite quickly,” he said.
“There is this feeling that you’ve made your point, essentially shut up now and get on with your quiet American life.”
“You stabbed a knife to the heart of the monarch of which there were some things they felt needed to be highlighted fair enough but stop now,” he added.
