Famed singer, rapper, and producer to the stars- Pharrell Williams is calling for justice after his cousin was shot dead recently.
The star revealed how the armed man that was killed in the recent Virginia Beach police shootout was in fact his cousin. Moreover, the incident left another reality television star dead while injuring 8 more. Now, Pharrell Williams is calling upon state authorities for justice after he believes his cousin was innocent, yet the cops fatally shot him.
Identified as Donovon W Lynch, the 25-year-old received bullets from cops who responded to the Virginia Beach gun battle on Monday. Local media outlets spoke about how the incident started off as a wild gunfight, located at a street party on the beachfront. But within no time, things went out of control.
Other media reports suggested how Lynch was the one ‘brandishing’ the gun but authorities are yet to comment on whether or not he was the main shooter involved. In addition, investigations into the case also showed how three other suspects were charged from the shootout for malicious wounding.
29-year-old Deshayla ‘Shay’ Harris was another victim killed in a separate shooting incident that took place in the nearby vicinity.
Meanwhile, BLM activists slammed the Virginia Beach Police for fatally shooting dead Lynch, who they felt was targeted for being a ‘black man’. Moreover, they also demanded that the cops involved in the incident be fired.
In the same way, Pharell Williams echoed similar demands for justice while calling out authorities to display transparency throughout the case’s investigations.
Friends reportedly commented on how Lynch was a nice person who may have been caught in the midst of the wild night of chaos that surrounded him.
The incident created immense panic among citizens as loud sounds from the shootout filled the air on Monday. And that was when cops rushed to the scene.
