A gym teacher is accused of assaulting her student for seven months in Pennsylvania.
The former teacher at Titusville Middle School is 33, and her name is Rochelle Cressman. She was ordered to appear at Crawford County Court on Tuesday. The authorities investigating the case said the teacher started sexually assaulting the student in September 2018 and continued it till April 2019.
The teacher blackmailed the boy emotionally and said she would commit suicide if he discloses their relationship.
The pair get into sexual interaction twice a week at the residence of Rochelle Cressman in Oil Creek and her home in Titusville.
The teacher was arrested earlier in May 2019 and was charged with 66 criminal counts. Sixty-three criminal counts were dropped as a result of the plea deal by the prosecutors.However, she is still charged with three statutory sexual assault counts.
According to the law, each count carries a sentence of 20 years and a $25000 fine.Cressman was arrested by the police from her school in April 2019 for her misconduct.
She resigned from her position officially in May.
The 60 c0unts she was charged with included ten counts of sexual intercourse with someone less than 16 years, ten counts of statutory sexual assault, and 42 counts of threats and indecent assault.She was released after paying the non-monetary condition bond of $75000 and was ordered to appear in court in February.
The case was reported to the police by the mother of the teen victim. The authorities interviewed the victim before the arrested Cressman. The victim said that the teacher threatened him to seal his lips, or she will harm herself. Cressman was a physical education teacher at Titusville Middle School and served there for ten years.
The court announced a sentence of 6-12 years followed by 10 years of supervision. According to the Meadville Tribune, Cressman will be registered as a sex offender for the rest of her life.
