The American nation will witness Vice President Mike Pence getting injected with the COVID-19 vaccine publicly on Friday.
Pence, who is also renowned for leading the coronavirus task force of the White House, will be injected with cameras rolling. Sources also confirmed how his wife, Karen Pence, will also receive the vaccine.
In the same way, the efforts come as a strive to help boost confidence amongst other Americans regarding the vaccine’s safety. For this reason, he is ready to get the newly approved vaccination from Pfizer-BioNTech.
Meanwhile, the White House announced the Vice President’s plans on Wednesday, via an email blast in the evening.
The announcement came in the form of an all-caps email that said, “VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE WILL PUBLICLY RECEIVE COVID-19 VACCINE TO BUILD CONFIDENCE AMONG OTHER AMERICANS.”
On December 18th, both Mr. Pence and the second lady, Karen Pence, will undergo the vaccine publicly, claimed the White House Release. This is to promote the vaccine’s efficacy as well as safety, it went on to claim further. The statement ended with how the whole idea is to build greater confidence among the American people.
In addition, the Vice President and his wife will be accompanied by Jerome Adams, who is a Surgeon General. Also, the entire event will take place at the White House.
At the age of 61, Mr.
Pence is the only senior official from the US, whose West Wing office is on the ground floor.
Yet, he never contracted the deadly COVID-19 virus this year. At the same time, he was one of the first to adopt the famous elbow bump form of salutation, known as the ‘chicken wing.’ And that was a genius tactic used to help reduce the risk of infection during the pandemic.
On the other hand, President Trump and the First Lady, both contracted the virus before the elections as did Mr. Pence’s chief of staff.
In addition, news reports also confirmed how President-Elect, Joe Biden, will be vaccinated next week. Again, the efforts aim to encourage the American population of getting the two-dose form of treatment, whenever it’s widely available.
