A group of men beats a police officer in Long Island City on Friday, November 2o.
The NYPD officer was dressed in civilian clothes and was jogging when a group of 6-9 men blocked his path. The gang thrashed the officer mercilessly at around 6:30 pm. The name of the police officer is not known yet. Authorities decided to keep the victim’s identification confidential. The officer has been with the police department for as long as 15 years.
Police are looking after the men who committed the crime; they are clueless regarding their identification and purpose behind the crime. The incident took place at 51st street, Vernon Boulevard. Samaritan reported it to the emergency unit at 911.
The officer suffered from several critical injuries at his head, shoulder, knee, and throat. However, he didn’t lose consciousness and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital. Authorities said they’ve received multiple complaints of the group assaulting people residing nearby. No one has been arrested in this regard, and police are investigating the case.
