The head of New York City’s BLM chapter is calling for an investigation into the organization’s co-founder, Patrisse Cullors.
According to local media outlets, 37-year-old Patrisse recently made heads turn after she spent a staggering amount of money on purchasing 4 homes in total. Moreover, her estimated spending totaled about $3 million and that’s when many people referred to her as a fraud as they suspected the real whereabouts of her finances.
Patrisse reportedly purchased a lavish property at the Topanga Canyon which is renowned as a swanky and upscale area in Los Angeles. But in addition to that, she opted to purchase three other luxury-themed homes too, for the past 5 years, as reported by the New York Post.
Now, the head of New York’s BLM chapter feels that the time has come to carry out a full-blown and transparent investigation into the movement’s finances, with special emphasis on Culler’s contributions to the charity too.
Insiders reported in March how the Black Lives Matter Movement brought a staggering amount of donations that summed up to around $90 million, just last year. But the exact whereabouts of those funds are still unclear.
“If you going to go around calling yourself as a socialist then you need to ask yourself how much of your own personal funds are actually to the cause of charity, referred the head to a publication recently.
Moreover, he added how it was quite sad that many people begin to doubt the actual validity of the movement, with many overlooking the fact that it’s the people that actually move this movement right along.
All of Cullors properties aren’t your average households. They are luxe-themed, complete with their own private backyards, swimming pools, and an airplane hanger too. More experts predict that Cullors had also been eyeing a very ultra-exclusive property at the Albany resort that is situated outside the Bahamas. It’s a destination with homes owned by Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods too.
