Nurses Gather On Rooftops To Pray As They Risk Their Lives To Save Others In The Fight Against Coronavirus


Florida and Tennessee nurses were photographed praying on the rooftops of their hospitals as they continue to risk their lives to help others during the coronavirus crisis.

Danny Rodriguez, senior ER tech at Jackson South Medical Center in Miami, Florida said:

“This is how we started our morning today. Our team said a prayer, asking God for guidance and protection while we are at work, and to keep us and our families safe.”

The image that was shared on the hospital system’s Twitter features eight medical professionals kneeling on a rooftop while praying.  

Authorities from the Jackson Health System hospitals announced on Wednesday evening that they have 82 in patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis finally issued a shelter in place order for the entire state on Wednesday after facing criticism for only shutting down South Florida.

According to reports, the Sunshine State currently has more than 8,000 confirmed cases between residents and visitors who tested positive for the coronavirus. Overnight, the state’s death toll increased to 128.

Meanwhile, Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Tennessee also shared a photo of their nurses praying.

Health worker representatives tweeted on Wednesday:

“We wanted to share this beautiful moment that was captured by a staff member when members of our team spent a few extra minutes on our helipad praying for their unit, Vanderbilt employees, patients, and families & all of our colleagues around the world taking care of patients.”

The image features four medical professionals standing and one kneeling as they gathered in a circle to pray. 

The hospital staff wrote:

“We are so proud of our staff working tirelessly on behalf of our patients and community.”

“This journey is unlike anything we have experienced. Each day we are impacted by the kindness and grace of our colleagues and this community. Thank you for all the ways you are lifting us up.”

In Tennessee, there are more than 2,400 confirmed coronavirus cases. Reports said the state has reported a death toll of 23.

In this fight against the deadly coronavirus, hospitals across the country are already seeking to hire nurses temporarily in clinical roles as they battle COVID-19.

Thousands of nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals have been asked to come out of retirement to help with the crisis, especially in certain hotspots in New York City, New Orleans, and cities in California.
