New Zealand would perhaps be the first country to lift the severe lockdown and push things back to normal.
It has not happened in any other country as yet. Most countries are still under an inflexible lockdown, and people are allowed to step out only if it’s absolutely urgent.
New Zealanders are going to be the pioneers with respect to ceasing the lockdown. It’s probably because the situation in New Zealand hasn’t been as worse as it has been in the United States or the United Kingdom. The total number of confirmed cases in the respective country is 992 with just one fatality.
Jacinda Ardern, the premier of New Zealand, seems really optimistic about normalizing everything in her country. She just gave a pat on the back of her people and ascertained that her nation has put up a brave fight against the pandemic.
She comes off really confident when she says, we have ‘’broken the chain of transmission’’. She sees her country as utmost prepared to embrace a normal life once again.
It is important to note that countries like New Zealand and Australia have gone through testing on a massive scale, unlike the US and UK. Furthermore, these two countries have taken a lot of precautionary measures in good time, and that is why they are the least troubled nations on earth as of now.
An affected person is unlikely to communicate the virus to an unaffected person as per how New Zealand’s prime minister projects it. They have done mass-testing and all the affected people are on their radar, and it would be totally imprudent to confine fully fit citizens to their homes.
The tiny number of affectees bodes well with their presumption of breaking the cycle of transmission. It ensures that the majority of the people in New Zealand are fit as a fiddle.
