A mother is being branded as a child abuser for breastfeeding her 5-year-old child, alongside her baby.
Meet 36-year-old Gaelle Meheut who hails from Vanuatu. Moreover, her claim to fame isn’t like other mothers. Instead, it’s for infamous reasons and those entail breastfeeding her child who is now 5 years old. In addition, the mother sees no problem in nursing her kids for so long because she feels that the bond gets strengthened.
But if you think the world wouldn’t notice, think again. People can’t help themselves at labeling her as a child abuser for carrying on with her nursing practice for so long.
While Gaelle says she never intended to stick to breastfeeding for so many years, neither did she herself get breastfed by her own mother for so many years too- her case is definitely exceptional to the norm.
“Extended breastfeeding was never a part of my original plan,” explained the mum of two. However, now, she is nursing her 5-year-old and her baby together in private as well as in public.

But it all started when her first baby was born and she didn’t have any formula milk at the hospital.point 88 | For this reason, she was forced to feed her child with her own milk and that’s how the addiction of breastfeeding her kids began.point 200 | 1
Looking into the benefits of breastfeeding, the mum of two goes on to claim how she feels there is simply nothing wrong with the act. In addition, the mum occasionally practices the art of tandem feeding which includes nursing her two kids at the same time. And according to her, it has strengthened the bond between the two siblings too.
While the mother eventually aims to begin natural weaning her children, for now, she believes many people stare at her as the mad mum with crazy kids stuck on the boobs. Currently, she is loving the relationship with her offspring and the joy that her breastfeeding moments bring too.
Trying not to let many people’s opinions come in her way, this mum is going strong so far, despite the great criticism that surrounds her on a routine basis.
