One elementary school teacher is describing her harrowing experience of watching her student’s troubled family ordeals live during her Zoom lesson.
The first day of online classes turned into an absolute nightmare for her.
A 10-year-old student logged into her Zoom account for her online class. But little did she know that her mother would be shot dead in the background, while she was taking her Zoom lesson.
Police officials from Martin’s County Sheriff’s department revealed details relating to the heinous killing. They explained how a 27-year-old man, Donald J. Williams, shot his ex-girlfriend, 32-year-old Maribel Rosado-Morales.
The gruesome incident took place at Maribel’s home in Indianatown, right in front of her six children. It was just 8 am when Maribel’s ex-boyfriend, Donald, barged into the home and performed the killing.
Moreover, police reports explained how one of Maribel’s daughters, was on a live Zoom call, alongside her classmates. They were attending an online school lesson when the killing took place.
The entire violent scene was recorded, comprising of plenty of yelling, screaming, as well as profanity in the background of the call.
All of that commotion led the young girl’s elementary teacher to mute the lesson’s audio, understanding that something wasn’t wrong. She knew that there was some sort of domestic violence unfolding at the home.
The teacher witnessed her young student holding her hands to her ears, as revealed during a press conference by the Police. And it was at that very moment when Williams took out his gun and opened fire on Maribel.
However, the actual shooting wasn’t visible to the teacher or the other students present on the Zoom call. And that’s because the young girl’s computer screen went black after a bullet struck her laptop.
The disheartening crime was witnessed by all of Maribel’s six children, who age between 10 to 17 years. They were all present inside the house when the incident took place.
Detectives revealed how Williams fled from the scene via a bicycle, after committing the horrifying crime.
