The shiny metal monolith that popped up in Romania 4 days ago suddenly vanished on Monday.
Last Thursday, a shiny triangular pillar appeared out of nowhere at Batca Doamnei Hill in Piatra Neamt, northern Romania. The pillar appeared a few yards away from the Petrodava Dacian Fortress, an archaeological fort built by Dacians in 82 BC. The monolith disappeared two days later on Monday as quietly as it appeared.
A reporter of Ziar Piatra Neam newspaper, an eye witness, told media that the monolith was about 9ft tall, and he had no idea where it has gone now.point 243 |

Some people had started assuming the unrevealed party behind monoliths’ disappearance are aliens, while others believe it could be a prankster’s work. “What I think is some UFO or alien had started planting mental monoliths on earth. I am glad they have chosen our city,” someone commented.

Some users also believe the monolith is inspired by the science fiction movie A Space Odyssey, released in 2001. The film showed the appearance of monoliths in Africa 3 million years ago. It was used as a weapon by the aliens to hit the rival tribes of apes and kill the animals to end their starvation. The monolith in that movie encouraged the development of humans and intelligence.
