Authorities in Egypt arrested a model and her photographer after carrying out a ‘sexy’ photoshoot at Egypt’s ancient pyramid.
According to sources, many considered the sexy clicks of Salma Al-Shimi, an Egyptian model who posed in a fitted ‘Pharoah’ type of outfit, as inappropriate. At the same time, some went as far as labeling it as offensive and provocative too. And that was when they went viral on social media, receiving plenty of hate from users across the board.
However, after the arrests took place, it was surprising to see the backlash that authorities faced.
The setting for the stunning images were the ancient pyramid ruins of Egypt with highlighted glimpses from the famed Step Pyramid of Djoser. This historical monumental structure dates back to around 4700 years ago.
The photographer for the shoot, Houssam Mohammad as well as the model, Al-Shimi received accusations for snapping clicks without taking any permission or authorization. After all, it is such a renowned archaeological site, as reported by the Middle East Eye.
However, recent news agencies confirmed how the pair was released from jail upon bail. This was all thanks to the outrage and backlash aimed at authorities. Moreover, the general consensus was sheer criticism for carrying out the baseless arrests.
Al-Shimi is a very popular and renowned model from Egypt with thousands of fans and followers that watch the star’s every move. While the images no longer appear on social media, after being forcefully taken down, viewers still recall the clicks.
Some outraged officials went on claiming that the photoshoot shouldn’t have taken place at all.
In addition, they labeled it as disrespectful too.At the same time, the country’s secretary-general for Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities says that ‘anyone who disrespected Egypt’s civilization would be dealt with punishment.
