Michelle Obama is detailing her constant fears relating to being a mother of black children.
The news comes as Mrs. Obama recently sat down for a recent interview with CBS. Here, she was accompanied by fellow host and anchor of CBS, Gayle King in Washington DC. The topic of the interview related to the racial divide in the US.

During the interview’s first half, the ex-first lady shed light upon what it’s really like being a mum to two beautiful black daughters, Malia and Sasha. And that’s when she began confessing all the fears that many people from the Black community have and how scared they are to live on a daily basis, hoping and praying that nothing goes wrong.
In addition, Michelle Obama was quick to point out how frightened she is whenever one of her daughters gets behind the wheel.
Just the innocent act of them getting a license has managed to instill great fear in her and plenty of other people’s hearts who arise from the Black community.
In the same way, she shed light on the recent verdict of George Floyd where Derek Chauvin was convicted of killing Floyd. “While we all were breathing a major sigh of relief over that particular case’s verdict, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done,” she explained.
“There are a lot of negatively themed assumptions being made about my daughters on a daily basis. And it’s scary for me as a mother.”
Both Mr. and Mrs. Obama did release separate statements after the George Floyd trial was over, mentioning how the jury made the right decision in convicting the former police officer. But they still felt that justice needs a lot more work done in this particular area to help make the Black community feel safe and to prevent such incidents from taking place in the future.
