The Queen has been urged to ask publishers to remove Meghan Markle’s royal title Duchess of Sussex which is printed out on the cover of Meghan’s new book.
Queen Elizabeth was asked to instruct her lawyers to contact the publisher of Meghan’s 40 pages children’s storybook to have the title of the former working royal removed.
Meghan Markle announced this week that she had written a book to commemorate Archie’s second birthday on Thursday. On the front cover, the author’s name is listed as “Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex” which has left royal fans fuming with anger.
Many readers expressed their disapproval watching the former royal member profit from the title the Queen bestowed on her when she married Prince Harry.
A year from Megxit and two months after the Sussexes’ bombshell interview with Oprah was aired, a lot of royal watchers said that it is about time that the Queen removed Harry and Meghan’s titles.
One reader said that Meghan had “crossed a proverbial red line” by using her title to promote herself as an upcoming author.
“The question now is will Queen Elizabeth take action,” the reader added.
Some said that the duchess is not allowed to use her given title for financial gain because her situation has changed since she was given the honor in May 2018.
“She shouldn’t be able to use her title for anything, the time it was removed,” one reader wrote.
“You want to be free of the Royal Family?” a second commenter said. “Drop your royal title, simple.”
“About time Liz got firm on this – remove their titles NOW!” said another.
Other comments said that the monarch should take action and remove the title from Meghan.
Someone even suggested that by ignoring this issue, the royals appear “weak” to the world.
“Enough already, strip her and Harry of their titles. The Royal Family is coming across as weak to me,” a person has said. “Show some power as they are making them look foolish now.”
“Buckingham Palace lawyers should contact the publishers and ask them to remove Duchess from the title,” another reader stated.
Meghan’s book will be released on June 8. The Duchess –who is expecting her second child– said that she felt inspired to write a book after composing a poem for Harry for Father’s Day.
The book talks about the special bond between a father and son as seen through a mother’s eyes, Puffin, an imprint of Penguin Random House Children’s UK announced.
