In Florida, a father called her sister over a phone call from jail to tell her that he couldn’t have stopped his family from being slain because he wasn’t round.
The Day of New London reported that a phone call happened between Anthony Todt, and his sister Chrissy Caplet.
“I couldn’t stop this because I wasn’t there,” Todt told his sister.
Todt is a physical therapist who worked in the state of Connecticut and spent his weekends with his family, and now, he is accused of killing his wife and three children including his family dog.
On January 13, the decomposing bodies were discovered in the family’s home.
The Orlando Sentinel obtained a letter written by Todt for his father dated July 19, that Megan, his wife stabbed and suffocated their children after giving them drugs.
He also wrote that his wife drank a bottle of Benadryl before stabbing herself in the abdomen.
Similar claims were made by him in March and April over a phone call to his sister that his wife attempted to kill their kids in the past.
“There were multiple attempts, just so you know, multiple attempts in the last, over a time frame, there’ve been attempts,” Todt claimed.
Public defender Robert Wesley has not spoken publicly and said that he had no comment.
Todt was found inside his house together with the dead bodies of his family when the FBI agents arrived to arrest him.
Todt confessed at the time of his arrest that he did murder his 42-year-old wife Megan, their children Alek, 13, Tyler, 11, and his youngest child Zoe, 4 along with their family dog, Breezy.
According to prosecutors, the accused has pleaded not guilty after being charged with four counts of first-degree murder and intends to face the death penalty.
