The video strikes a debate as an expert shut the theory.
ScottJeffreys0, a TikTok user, posted a video that hits millions of views and goes viral. The clip showed a tablet being loaded into a dishwasher. The clip has a caption that says, “Who knew I have been using it wrong all my life.”
Instead of placing the tablet in the dishwasher’s large compartment, the Tiktoker popped it into the upper smaller chamber and closed the lid. The tablet fits perfectly in the smaller slot. Thousands of people jump into the discussion that which is the right slot to hold the tablet.
The video started a debate, and many people ran to check if the tablet fits in the other slot.
A user commented, “I didn’t know this. Thank you, Scott!”

Some viewers get convinced that placing the tablet in a smaller compartment with a vented door is the appropriate method. However, so many people opposed the idea and said that this is not the right way. According to the manual, the upper slot is for pre-cleaning.
Colin Jones, an expert from Appliances Online, took part in the debate and said that the video suggests the wrong idea. Popping the tablet in a smaller slot will not damage the machine, but the dishes will not get washed properly. He also said that the dishwashers a few years ago come with three compartments. A compartment for pre-wash, main wash, and rinse aid.
Some users also corrected Scott by posting comments like, “If you put it in the top one, you won’t have any soap during the wash cycle.”
Another person commented, “It’s wrong that flap opens up mid-cycle, and the tablet falls out.”
