In Russia, a groom disappeared on his wedding day to rape an underage girl.
Sergei, 23, has been arrested and went to trial. The young man was charged with statutory rape at a court in the town of Volsk.
In 2019, local media reported that Sergei cheated on his wife, Victoria, on their wedding day, adding that the man went missing for several hours.
Sergei’s mistress was then 11-year-old Lyuba.
According to local news outlet Wolsk, Sergei and Victoria did actually got married on that day even if the groom keeps on disappearing at the wedding reception.
However, their marriage only lasted for a short while as the couple separated after their son’s birth.
“I just got tired of Sergei’s lies, his adventures with Lyuba, even though he said they were not communicating,” Victoria told Wolsk.
Victoria added that her alleged pedophile ex-husband also refused to pay child support for their son.
Sergei’s ex-wife also claimed that his remorse during his trial over the decisions he had made was a pure act.
“He is a very deceitful and shifty person,” Victoria said. “He playacts, thus dodging responsibility.”
After they parted ways, Sergei entered into a full-time ‘relationship’ with a pregnant Lyuba, now 14.
It is not clear why Lyuba’s parents or guardians seemingly failed to stop the crazy ordeal.
Sergei attempted to marry Lyuba to formalize the couple’s relationship — a suspected move as an attempt to avoid being charged for statutory rape.
But this application was rejected by the registry office as the age of consent for marriages in Russia is 18.
Marriage at 16 and 17 are only allowed with parental consent even if one of the partners is over 18.
The trial is still ongoing.
