A man reportedly beat his girlfriend’s 7-year-old son to death recently, with reports confirming how he made use of a hammer too.
Rashad Akeem Thompson received first-degree murder charges from authorities in West Virginia for carrying out the heinous crime. And when questioned about the entire incident and why he chose to embark on the shocking crime, Rashad boldly claimed that he used a hammer because he ‘just lost it’. His anger was just too much.
In the same way, the 34-year-old also spoke about how he carried out the devastating crime that came in the form of a deadly assault, around 2:45 am on Thursday. The setting for the incident was reportedly a giant apartment complex, situated in the vicinity of Beckley in West Virginia, confirmed by local media outlets.
When police officers arrived at the crime scene, they spoke about how they witnessed the most gruesome scenes. There was also a hammer that was reportedly covered in blood, and situated on the living room’s floor too.
In the same way, the cops also soon went on discovering how the young boy’s body also lay upon the couch. Clearly, this appeared to be a case of extreme trauma that was located on the left side of his head.
Thompson kept on telling West Virginia authorities about how he ‘lost it.’ Likewise, in the police report, the criminal complaint comprised of how state detectives assumed that the child was bludgeoned using the hammer too.
As far as the young child’s mother was concerned, she was Rashad’s girlfriend, where police identified her as Felicia Brown. She was also found nearby at a neighbor’s house, covered in blood. Cops spoke about how she also suffered from the worst trauma that led to her evident stab wounds.
Right after cops discovered her in a dire state, paramedics were called in and she was rushed to a nearby hospital, while in her critical condition. Today, she is reportedly doing well.
Rashad is currently being held at the Southern Regional Jail with his pending arraignment.
