Nicky Hill, 27, is a self-taught makeup artist who has surprised the internet with her designs 4 years ago for the first time, but that story didn’t end too well for her.
As a young artist herself, Nicky made the mistake of not adding a watermark to her photo.
The photo of her optical illusion makeup went viral, being shared on different social media platforms by millions of users. To this day, the photo is still circulating around the web, and Nicky never gets her deserved credit for it.
“It threw me off massively,” Nicky said. “I stopped believing in myself and fell off the makeup wagon for a while.”
As the pandemic lockdown came, Nicky’s inspiration and creativity were reignited once again, and this time the story ends well.
Nicky has been working with makeup for over 7 years now and believes once again in herself. She is hoping to become a full-time professional makeup artist, and we can confidently say that she’s on the right path!
The entire process for Nicky feels therapeutic and she loves everything that’s making people stop scrolling in confusion.
The ‘how is that possible’ effect and reaction from the viewers is her aim. This is Nicky’s favorite part of creating, and sometimes it takes even longer than 12 hours of high concentration, attention to detail, and right shading to achieve such optical illusions.
