Therese Duke- the mum from Massachusetts who suffered a violent blow to her face during the DC rally, recently lost her job.
According to media reports, the nurse went viral after her own daughter publicly shamed her for attending a violent Pro-Trump rally. Now, after getting fired from her hospital job, she fears that she will never find another job again.
Therese Duke explained to the Boston Herald how she was looking innocently for a place to eat, alongside a few other ‘like-minded’ Trump supporters in DC. And that’s when they were suddenly accosted by a group of counter-protesters, near the White House area.
The incident took place on the night before the violent MAGA protesters stormed into the Capitol building after President Trump ordered them to march on Congress. Duke received a massive blow to her face while her sister was arrested for retaliating against the alleged attacker.
“I did nothing wrong,” she explained.
“I was the one who was assaulted,” she added. Moreover, her video of being attacked took social media by storm, getting 12 million views in such a short span of time.
Duke’s puncher was security official Ashanti Smith, who was arrested and charged for simple assault.Duke’s own daughter mocked her for taking part in violent protests. Her daughter mentioned, “Hi mom, remember the time you told me I should not go to BLM protests because they tend to get violent… this you?” she asked curiously.
Therese confirmed how she continues to get threats ever since the incident took place. Moreover, the place where she used to work, Memorial Health Care, confirmed through a public online statement that ‘she is no longer a part of our organization.’
Now, the mum explains how she was forced to resign from a job of 15 years. In the same way, she fears that she won’t be getting any job soon as her notoriety might thoroughly crush her chances when it comes to finding work or her hiring.
Duke also defended her actions when it came to traveling to DC to support Donald Trump.
However, she believes that no one wanted violence.
“It was just a last-ditch effort to show support for Trump because we all are aware of how the vote was stolen. ” On the other hand, her daughter believes her mum needs to be held accountable for her actions. While she does have some guilt for her mother at the moment, she explained how she’s appalled when her mum made claims of doing absolutely nothing wrong.
