2 Officers Shot In Louisville Protests As Violence Grips US Over Breonna Taylor Decision


Violence continues to erupt in the US over the recent judicial decision over the Breonna Taylor killing.

In the aftermath of it all, Louisville protests took an ugly turn. And that’s because two police officers received bullets, wounding them in the intense firing incident.

The intense situation is picking up pace in all states of the country where police clash with protestors. Meanwhile, the violence began when Kentucky’s grand jury refused to charge three officers. They were guilty of shooting and killing Breonna Taylor.

This harrowing shooting incident of Louisville took place around 8:30 pm on Wednesday. Both the police officers received grave gunshot wounds. And that’s when they were rushed to the University of Louisville’s hospital.

As far as their condition is concerned, both officers are in stable condition with one undergoing surgery. Interim Police’s Chief, Robert Schroeder, revealed all the details surrounding the violent crime. He also released a heartfelt statement regarding the safety of his officers.

‘I am extremely concerned regarding the safety of our officers,’ he claimed. ‘Obviously, we had two officers received gunshot injuries tonight. And that is a very serious and dangerous condition. I believe it is of utmost importance for us to take care of our officers, making their safety an important priority.’

At the same time, President Donald Trump resulted in Twitter to speak his mind on the situation. He expressed sorrow over the horrifying incident. Meanwhile, he went on claiming that he’s ‘praying’ for both the officers injured during the attack.

‘The Federal Government stands with you and behind you. And we are ready to help,’ he stated. ‘I just spoke to Governor Andy Beshear.’ We are ready to work together, immediately on request!’

Louisville is facing the most turmoil with continuous violent clashes. The unanimous decision by the jury on not charging the officers didn’t go down to well with the masses. And the mere fact that they chose to only indict one officer for Taylor’s killing is causing serious fury.
