Limbless Woman Who Lived Her Entire Life In A Basin Died At The Age Of 19


In Nigeria, a limbless teen tragically passed away at the age of 19.

Rajma Haruna was born to a caring family in the city of Kano, and her life seemed to be just fine.

However, Rahma’s limbs stopped developing properly when she was 6 months old, she has been in constant pain since then. She had a mysterious medical condition that even doctors couldn’t find the reason why her arms and legs suddenly stopped growing.

Despite living her entire life in a basin, having no access to proper medical care, Rahma’s loving family worked hard to make her life as comfortable as possible.

Fahad, Rahma’s younger brother, loved to help her and bring her out to visit their family relatives because he knew it made his sister happy.

“From six months when she learned how to sit that was when it began,” Fahad told The Straits Times. “She didn’t learn how to crawl.”

“She started with a fever and that was it, then stomach pains,” he continued. “Then her body parts like hands and legs. She cannot use any if the ache strikes.”

“I help her in many ways,” he said. “Bathing her is another thing I do, and taking her out every day.”

“I feel happy whenever I see people helping her,” Fahad said. “I like taking her to our relatives. She feels happy when we visit them.”

Even if life seems hard for Rahma, she remained her positive outlook in life.

Rahma was grateful to her family for tirelessly providing her all the things that she needed. She also had dreams of starting her own business with a grocery store and live her best life.

Rahma died of unknown causes on December 25, 2016, and is survived by both her parents and her brother.
