The legal team of ex-FBI lawyer, Kevin Clinesmith, is requesting a judge to avoid sending him to jail, despite lying to surveil Trump’s advisor, Carter Page.
The news comes as a shocker as Kevin agreed to plead ‘guilty’ in August when it came to making a series of false statements. This was in regards to doctoring a certain email that was submitted in the form of evidence towards the court of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance.
Meanwhile, the shocking discovery was captured by Connecticut’s US Attorney John Durham and his team. The incident took place as they were involved in reviews of the FBI’s Russian investigation. Today, Durham will also serve as Special Counsel for Joe Biden’s administration, continuing with his usual work.
News reports confirmed how the attorney will face around 5 years in jail. However, sentencing guidelines now reportedly call for a maximum limit of up to 6 months behind bars.
