Now, 30-year-old Shawna Eccles mentioned in the court papers how she sleeps upon the couches of her pals whenever possible as well as her four-door Toyota vehicle, whenever she can’t find a spot at a friend’s. The news comes after months of fighting and failing to evict 33-year-old tenant Sharita Patterson, from the mega two-family home, located in Canarsie.

The 30-year-old mentioned how there is currently no one available with whom she can stay until she has the ability to evict out her tenant. Moreover, the fact that all of her funds cover up her mortgage costs, water bill, and property taxes make it all so annoying together.

“If anything gets cut off, it will be termed as the most illegal eviction of all times. Moreover, I lack the additional funds needed to rent out an apartment too.

Patterson went on to add how the state’s current pandemic-themed eviction rules and regulations including housing terms are making life miserable for her. Now, Patterson has till May 1st before any other New York housing court would consider a liable case against her too.

And that’s all because she ticked a box upon a hardship declaration form that claims how she has been financially impacted by the COVID-19 rules and regulations. Under the new laws, she now has until the 26th to fill-up the form, which will automatically halt out their evictions.

According to court papers, Patterson allegedly owes $14,700 worth of back rent over her two-bedroom pad. Yet, she still chose to move forward and purchase a vehicle during the pandemic.

Now, the city’s Department for Social Services informed the Eccles that Patterson rejected a number of offers relating to rental assistance, just so she could search for a new apartment, as mentioned by the landlord.
