NBA Finals 2020: Los Angeles Lakers Win Record-tying 17th NBA Title


Los Angeles Lakers beat the Miami Heat with 106-93 on Sunday night.

LeBron James had 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists, and Miami Heat loses the game with 106-93 on Sunday night. LeBron James was also named the Most Valuable Player of the NBA.

Lakers star Anthony Davis had 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers, and after the game, he said that ever since the tragedy, all we wanted to do was to do it for him (Kobe Bryant) because he was a big brother to all of us.

After the win, Vanessa Bryant, widow of Kobe Bryant, wrote on social media saying that she wishes that Kobe and Gianna were here to see this win.

The NBA season ended nearly one year; the game was interrupted on March 11 because of a pandemic. Adam Silver, Commissioner of NBA, and the players agreed to finish the year with 22 teams at Walt Disney World in a bubble that was designed to keep the players and staff safe from the virus.

There were no fans to celebrate the win; people who were with them were team employees and a small group of friends and family. But they were surrounded by the digital images of fans, which were projected on the scoreboard with the words ‘Black Lives Matter.’

This one-year long season will also be remembered for losing a longtime commissioner David Stern. Who died on January 1, after suffering a brain hemorrhage.

LeBron James said that this game will pass and there will be a group of young kids and vets and rookies throughout the course of this game. He added how he moves, or walk or what he preaches or talk about and how he inspires the next generation is most important to him.

By the half time, the game Lakers were in the lead with 64-36. This 28 point halftime lead was the second biggest lead in the history of the NBA finals. It was first topped by the Celtics leading the Lakers 79-49 in 1985.
